Frequently Asked Questions
A chiropractic adjustment is a gentle technique where controlled pressure is applied to specific joints, often the spine or pelvis, to encourage better alignment and mobility. At Bodyveda, we use the McTimoney method — a light, precise, whole-body approach designed to be comfortable and tailored to each individual.
Sometimes during an adjustment, you may hear a small cracking or popping sound. This is not bones breaking — it’s simply the release of tiny gas bubbles within the joint fluid as pressure changes. It’s a normal occurrence, and not every adjustment produces a sound.
Most people find McTimoney chiropractic to be a very gentle style of care. You may feel light pressure or movement, but adjustments are not designed to be painful. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, we will adapt the technique or stop immediately — your comfort and consent always come first.
If you’re already experiencing significant discomfort, you may notice a little soreness as your body begins to adapt. Some people also report mild aches, fatigue, or a short period of muscle tenderness, which usually settles quickly. These responses are normal and reflect the body adjusting to new patterns of movement.
The adjustment process is quick and efficient. Our appointment sessions last up to 20 minutes.
This varies for each person. Some people feel they only need a single visit, while others choose a short series of sessions. Your care plan will be tailored to your needs and will take into account how your body moves and adapts over time. We’ll review your progress regularly, and you are always free to continue, pause, or stop care at any stage.
Chiropractic care isn’t just about managing pain — it can also be used as a proactive way to support posture, mobility, and day-to-day comfort. Just like regular dental check-ups, some people choose periodic chiropractic visits to maintain balance and keep their body moving well.
Please note: chiropractic care is not a substitute for medical treatment. If we identify anything requiring medical attention, we’ll refer you appropriately.
We understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible so we can offer your slot to someone else in need of care.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment will incur a charge of 50% of the appointment value. No-shows will be charged the full amount.
If you need to reschedule, our cancellation policy still applies. For further assistance, please contact us at 07554882163 to discuss your situation.
